Equine Matters

Routine Treatments

Vaccinations
Horses are routinely vaccinated for both flu and tetanus.  These annual visits are a good chance to discuss any concerns you may have with your horse, including weight management, worming or poor performance.

Dentistry
Our vets are all trained in equine dentistry and can provide routine rasping as well as dealing with dental problems.  We can also sedate your horse to ensure that the dental work provided is achieved with minimal distress.

Worming
We provide free worm egg screening and advice to our clients.  We are able to tailor worming programs for yards to ensure that worming costs and worm resistance are kept to a minimum.

Passports and Microchips
All horses and ponies are required by law to have a passport.  This is a legal document and must be kept up to date with your horse’s vaccinations and current address.  When new passports are issued your horse will also need to be microchipped.  We provide both passport forms and microchips where required.

Emergency Care
There is nothing more terrifying that seeing your horse in distress.  We offer an emergency out of hours service 24 hours a day seven days a week, every day of the year.  Our vets all live locally allowing rapid response.

Other Services
We are happy to perform routine surgeries at your yard including colt castrations.  We also have a portable radiography machine allowing us to take routine images at your yard.

We also work closely with farriers, physiotherapists and chiropractors to ensure your horse receives the best care possible.
